Description	:	Wendell Jacobs of Kirkman died unexpectedly 25 July 1963 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs at the age of 64 years 10 months and 1 day. He was born to Margaret and Nicholas Jacobs September 24, 1898 at Portsmouth. September 20, 1921 he married Minnie Rehder. To this union three children were born: Virginia; Mrs. Sylvan Bissen, Earling ; Eugene, Omaha ; Gerald, Harlan. Survivors include his wife, three children, 13 grandchildren, two sisters, Suzzanne; Mrs. Victor Small, Clinton, N. Carolina; Catherine Jacobs, Hollywood, California. Survivors include his wife, three children, 13 grandchildren, two sisters, Suzzanne; Mrs. Victor Small, Clinton, N. Carolina; Catherine Jacobs, Hollywood, California. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers: Frank and Nicholas, two sisters: Anna and Sr Gordiana and six other children and infants. He was a farmer and affiliated with St. Michaels Church in Harlan. He moved from Portsmouth to Harlan in 1949. Funeral services were held July 29, 1963, 9 a.m. at St. Michaels Church. Rev. Leo J. Gannon was celebrant at the Requiem High Mass. Pallbearers were Nick Sondag, Leonard Sondag, Urban Rosmann, Oscar Anastasi, Charles and Raymond Jacobs.
