His unexpected death came suddenly at 7:20 P.M. with his family at his side. Funeral services and a celebration of Wes's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Read More	Wesley Deal, 57, of 3122 170th Street, died Thursday, January 26th, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center Emergency Room. His unexpected death came suddenly at 7:20 P.M. with his family at his side. Funeral services and a celebration of Wes's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 30th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, 1209 Iowa Ave. W., with Pastor Kim Wilson of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments in the hospitality room of the funeral home following the burial services. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 2-4:00 P.M. on Sunday with his family present. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Wes and his family (641-844-1234). Born on December 3rd, 1948, in Marshalltown, he was the only child born to Carroll and Dorothy (Castell) Deal. He received his education in the area of his birth. On June 24th, 1966, at Princeton, MO., he was united in marriage to Shirley Murty. They have resided in this area all of their married lives where he was employed with Fisher Controls, operated his own woodworking business for 10 years, Mycogen Seeds and most recently as grounds superintendent for the Riverside Cemetery where he passionately encouraged the new lake restoration. Wes was a member of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ, past member of the Green Mountain Fire Department and the Green Mountain Lions Club. He will be fondly remembered for his love of family, especially his grandchildren, fishing and the Riverside Cemetery. He will be greatly missed by many. Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 39 years, Shirley, his daughter Paige Deal of Ankeny and son Justin (Richelle) Deal of Marshalltown, four grandchildren; Jasmine, Morgan, Sam and Isaac and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents.
