He was a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, where he served as Trustee and Elder. He attended St. Paul's Parochial School through the eighth grade and graduated from Sidney High School.Wes had a great love of animals and loved the land. He farmed until his retirement in 2003. He was well known for his carpentry skills, which he used to remodel and build numerous homes in the area, including the home where he raised his family. He spent his free time fishing and hunting pheasants. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He set an example of service for his family by quietly meeting the needs of both friends and strangers. He was an honest man who always kept his word. Wes had a keen sense of humor and kept those around him laughing his entire life.Wes married Bertha Corbett on October 28, 1951. They raised five children and lived in Sidney throughout their marriage.Wes is survived by his wife, Bertha; his sons and daughters‑in‑law, Wes and Claudia Mueller of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Greg and Shelley Mueller, of Springfield, Virginia; and Jon and A'Lisa Mueller, of Sidney; his daughter and son‑in‑law, Trish and Mike Long, of Olathe, Kansas; and his daughter, Pam Uhl, of Sidney. He has sixteen grandchildren: Sara St. Cyr, Casey, and Alese Mueller; Adam, Lindsey, Megan, Brandon, and Carson Long; Erica, Alison, Nathan, Seth, and Jonathan Mueller; Nicole and Jessica Uhl; and Caitlyn Mueller; and one great granddaughter, Grace St. Cyr; He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth and wife Eileen Mueller of Sidney, Donal and wife JoAnne Mueller of Anchorage, Alaska, and James and wife Ramona Mueller of Yankton, South Dakota, as well as several nieces and nephews.His parents and one brother, Jerry Mueller, preceded him in death.
