He often encouraged people to stop smoking, using himself as an example. He was born July 17, 1951 to the late Frank and the late Christine (Bush) Driver. He started working at Nissan-Smyrna when it opened and retired from Nissan-Dechard after 25 years of employment. Wesley loved the simple, small-town life of Bell Buckle (except during the annual festivals when tourists "blocked the streets"). He graduated from Bell Buckle High School and owned a beautiful farm in Bell Buckle. Wesley was known for his generous nature and his mischievous humor/practical jokes. Wesley touched so many lives and was always willing to help anyone who asked. Several times he would see a need and just provide the help without being asked. Wesley will be sadly missed by his daughter, Angie Driver (G.E. Haskins) of Murfreesboro; sister, Pam Henry (Gary Comstock) of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Keri, Courtney, Colton, & Alexys; and great-grandchildren, McKinley, Korbin, Wake, and Wroyce. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, at Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Carroll Crosslin officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until service time (masks are encouraged). Burial will follow in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Bedford Cancer Foundation @ www.bedfordcancerfoundation.org (by mail to P.O. Box 1523 Shelbyville, TN 37162) or to a charity of your choice.
