A Hiawatha resident since 1947, he was born on June 10, 1895, at Hutchinson, Kansas. He married Ina Drake on May 13, 1937, at Lincoln, Nebraska. She died in 1981. Read More	The Gazette, Cedar Rapids, Iowa ~ 10 Nov 1988, Thu • Page 14 Wesley Haden "Tommy" Tucker, 93, of 302 B Ave., Hiawatha, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. A Hiawatha resident since 1947, he was born on June 10, 1895, at Hutchinson, Kansas. He married Ina Drake on May 13, 1937, at Lincoln, Nebraska. She died in 1981. Mr. Tucker served on the Hiawatha City Council from 1958 to 1965, when he resigned to become the superintendent of the city's water department. He retired in 1973. Mr. Tucker was a Hiawatha City Father and an early land developer, having started his first development in 1954 on land he farmed. He also developed the east half of Hiawatha and donated Tucker Park to the community. Mr. Tucker was a World War I Army veteran and a member of the Hiawatha VFW Post 5349. Survivors include son, James Young of Bentonville, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services at Turner Chapel East, by Rev. Charles West of Hope United Church of Christ.
