Description	:	Wesley Parks, Jr.Wesley Wilson Parks Jr., 78, of Sheffield, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility while under care of Hospice of North Iowa. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 10 at the West Fork United Methodist Church rural Sheffield with Pastor Sandi Gobeli presiding. Interment will be at the West Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Wesley Parks, Jr. was born May 23, 1933 at Alexander, the son of Wesley and Marjorie (Cross) Parks. He graduated from Hampton High School and attended college at Long Beach College in California. Wes served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. On January 15, 1955 Wesley was united in marriage with Pauline Stanbrough at Sheffield. Over the years he graduated from Radio and TV school in Des Moines, worked for Montgomery Ward in Des Moines and worked for 28 years for Maytag in Hampton from where he retired. Wes then worked for Davis Oil Company part time before retiring completely. Wes enjoyed gardening, woodworking and construction, metal detecting, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. In later years he loved and entertained his grandchildren and great grandson, sometimes with his wild tales. Living family members include his wife of 56 years, Pauline Parks; three children: Debra (Todd) Sabin, Hampton, Gwana (Dean) Wirtjes, Hampton, and Wesley III ‘Willie' (Kelly) Parks, Forest City; 6 grandchildren; Eric (Steph) Arenholz, Kyle Arenholz, Noah Parks, Jamie Wirtjes, Nichole Wirtjes, Jake Parks and 1 great grandson: Oliver Arenholz; siblings: Maryanne Marchellino, Hampton and Stan Parks, Des Moines. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Bernard, Morris, Donald and Eugene.
