He was born on April 28, 1926, in East Boothbay, the son of George M. and Clara E. (Batteese) Bridges, and he attended South Portland schools. Read More	PFC US ARMY - KOREA SCARBOROUGH - Weston Allen Bridges, 89, formerly of South Portland, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. He was born on April 28, 1926, in East Boothbay, the son of George M. and Clara E. (Batteese) Bridges, and he attended South Portland schools. Following his schooling, Weston was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in the 424th Field Artillery Battalion in Korea from 1951 to 1952. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.) Albert S. Worthen-Chapter 3, Maine and a member of the Harold T. Andrews Post 17 in Portland. Weston enjoyed music from the 1930s and 1940s, and another hobby of his was weightlifting. He was predeceased by his parents; six brothers, and three sisters. Weston is survived by his brother, Earl L. Bridges and sister, Betty E. Emery, both of South Portland. The family would like to express their gratitude for all the loving and attentive care given to Weston at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. A private graveside service will be held at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are under the guidance of Hobbs Funeral Home.
