Description	:	Wilber D. "Butch" Peek, a 32-year Grays Harbor resident, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Seattle's Veterans Hospital. He was 69. Wilber was born February 21, 1943 in Blaine County Idaho to Wilber W. and Christine (Ray) Peek. He grew up in Idaho and Elma and is a graduate of Elma High School Class of 1961. Wilber enlisted in the US Army in 1966 and served until 1980. Read More	Wilber D. "Butch" Peek, a 32-year Grays Harbor resident, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Seattle's Veterans Hospital. He was 69. Wilber was born February 21, 1943 in Blaine County Idaho to Wilber W. and Christine (Ray) Peek. He grew up in Idaho and Elma and is a graduate of Elma High School Class of 1961. Wilber enlisted in the US Army in 1966 and served until 1980. He was a helicopter mechanic and served 4 combat tours in Vietnam receiving the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He went on to serve in Korea, Germany, Kentucky and Louisiana before being medically discharged in 1980. During his working life, he worked at Badgett's Dairy, Sears and Roebuck, Truck driving and he worked at the Satsop Development Park for Boise Cascade. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dietlinda. She passed-away April 20, 2000. Wilber was a lifetime member of the Elma VFW and the Tumwater DAV. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to music, watching movies, playing Pinochle and raising Great Danes. According to his family, he had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. In addition to his wife, Dietlinda, he is also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Fred, Donnie, John and Earl. The family suggests memorial donations be made to a veteran's service organization of your choice Publication will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 4-6PM at Whiteside in Elma. Funeral services will begin at 1PM Thursday, April 19, 2012 also at Whiteside.
