Description	:	Wilbur married Lucy Faber, daughter of Henry Faber and Mary (Hess) Faber, on April 10, 1899, in Ottumwa, Iowa. I have not been able to find when Lucy died, but she was not named as a survivor in her father Henry Faber's obituary, when he died in 1907. According to the obituary for Wilber's son, Clifford Rex, he was born in Ottumwa on September 4, 1900, and he was the son of Wilbur [sic] and Lucy Faber Hastie [sic]. There is a situation with Wilber that I find puzzling: In the 1900 Census for Ottumwa, Iowa, that was enumerated on June 5, 1900, Wilber, age 19, single, was living with his parents, Thomas and Lucy A. Hasting. In another 1900 Census for Ottumwa, that was enumerated on June 7, 1900, Wilber W. [sic] Hasty, age 19, was living with his wife, Lucy, and a daughter, Marvel M. Hasty, age 9 months. The census shows correctly that they were married in 1899. Although this is unusual, it is not the first time I have seen someone living with their parents in a census, and a few days later, shown as living with their spouse. Wilbur married Dora Lowe on November 8, 1903, in Ottumwa. On that marriage record, Wilbur showed his place of birth as What Cheer, Iowa. --------------- Obituary From "Ottumwa Daily Review," Saturday, January 18, 1913, Page 1: WILBUR HASTY DIES PASSES AWAY IN DES MOINES–FUNERAL IN OTTUMWA TOMORROW MORNING. Wilbur Hasty, aged 31 years, died at his home in Des Moines yesterday morning at 7 o'clock. The remains were shipped to Ottumwa this morning and taken to the Sullivan undertaking parlors where the funeral service will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Lee, pastor of the South Side Baptist church. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, one child, mother and father and two sisters, Mrs. George McGill of Alliance, Nebraska and Mrs. S. Omer Duree of this city. Two brothers, Hal Hasty of Lincoln, Nebraska, and A.L. Lightner of this city.
