Description	:	Wilbert Morris "Red" Cornwell, 80, of Kilmarnock died February 5, 2013. He was born on July 5, 1932, the sixth child of the late Jack and Lillian Cornwell of Lancaster. Mr. Cornwell served in the U.S. Air Force before returning home to begin his life-long career in the seafood industry. He was the owner and operator of Oyster World Inc. in Weems and Cap'n Red's Seafood Market in Kilmarnock. He was also a bell captain at The Tides Inn for a number of years. He was born on July 5, 1932, the sixth child of the late Jack and Lillian Cornwell of Lancaster. Mr. Cornwell served in the U.S. Air Force before returning home to begin his life-long career in the seafood industry. He was the owner and operator of Oyster World Inc. in Weems and Cap'n Red's Seafood Market in Kilmarnock. He was also a bell captain at The Tides Inn for a number of years. He was a member of the Virginia Seafood Council and the Lancaster County Lion's Club with 43 years of service. He received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from Lion's Club International. As a child, he became a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his siblings Virginia Cornwell Lumpkin, William "Billy", George, James, and John Robert Cornwell. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Gloria B. Cornwell; a son, David M. Cornwell of Kilmarnock, a son, John Eric Cornwell and his wife Elizabeth, of Kilmarnock, and a grandson, Eric C. Cornwell. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy C. Keyser, of Kilmarnock; his sisters-in-law, Julia C. Oliver and Shirley J. Bonham of Kilmarnock and Margaret B. Cleer of Richmond; a devoted employee and friend, Welby L. Smith III, of Weems; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 8, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will be in the White Marsh Cemetery in Lancaster. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 7 at Currie Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to White Marsh Cemetery Fund, P.O.
