Description	:	Wilbert Vande Kieft, 90, of Sioux Center died Thursday, December 27, at the Nursing Wing in Sioux Center. Services were Saturday, December 29, at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Duane Tinklenburg officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Read More	Wilbert Vande Kieft, 90, of Sioux Center died Thursday, December 27, at the Nursing Wing in Sioux Center. Vande Kieft was born to Geurt and Nellie (Van't Hul) Vande Kieft on October 22, 1911, near Ireton. He attended country school near Orange City. He farmed with his father. He married Henrietta De Jager on January 31, 1934. They farmed in various locations in Sioux County until 1960 when they moved to Sioux Center. He was then employed at Coop Produce as an egg hauler for 14 years. The couple became janitors at American State Bank in 1975 and were employed there for 20 years. He also helped in the office for Midwest Hay and Straw Company for 10 years. They retired in 1995 and moved to the New Homestead for a couple of years, then to Franken Manor and then into the Sioux Center Nursing Wing in the spring of 2000. He was a present member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church and a past member of Middleburg Reformed Church, where he was a deacon and was active in the Men's Society. He enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins, making toys and teaching the-grandchildren how to make and repair things. Survivors include his wife; one son, Harold and his wife Kathy of Orange City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gertie Nyhof of Sioux Center. He was preceded in death by a grandson; two brothers, Bill and John; and two sisters, Reka Sinkey and Minnie Feenstra. Sioux Center Newsw 2002-01-02.
