Mr. Hardwick was born September 13, 1929 in Conway, SC, a son of the late William Arthur Hardwick and Pearl Bellamy Hardwick. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church for 66 years and served as Sunday School Teacher, Music Director, Deacon, and Deacon Emeritus. Read More	Obituary Wilbur Blondell Hardwick, age 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Conway Medical Center after a long illness. Mr. Hardwick was born September 13, 1929 in Conway, SC, a son of the late William Arthur Hardwick and Pearl Bellamy Hardwick. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church for 66 years and served as Sunday School Teacher, Music Director, Deacon, and Deacon Emeritus. Mr. Hardwick and his wife worked 6 years with the Home Mission Board and assisted in starting churches in South Carolina, Iowa, and Michigan. He was a farmer and a carpenter, and retired from Hardwick Construction. Mr. Hardwick was preceded in death by three brothers, Wade, Tommy, and one who died at birth. The family is so grateful to his caregivers at Conway Manor, the Conway Medical Center Critical Care Unit and to Max Nobles for taking him home one last time. Mr. Hardwick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anna Haselden Hardwick; children, Lynette H. Nobles (Rodney), Deborah H. Earles (John), and John Wilbur Hardwick (Debbie); grandchildren, Stacey Lynne Hughes (Sherman), Jessica Bullard, and Dakota Hardwick; step-grandson, Brad Gore (Ambyr); great-grandchildren, Brianna Allie, Ethan Tyler, and Hailey Elizabeth; step great-grandchildren, Christian and Chloe; brothers, Eston (Loyann), Carl (Beverly) and John (Patricia); sisters, Arthurleen Alford, Betty Alford, Essie Adair, Joyce Ann Cunningham (Charles) and Judy Bishop (Oris); and many nieces, nephews, extended family and Rosemary Pringle, his special caregiver. Also, Tigger, the only cat he ever loved. A Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, March 28, 2016 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Pastor Randy Zurcher and Pastor Kevin Lambert officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Greenwood Baptist Church, Steeple Fund, 5560 Pauley Swamp Rd., Conway, SC 29527.
