He is survived by his wife, Jane F. Dowdy. Also surviving are his daughter, Patricia Grafton of Springfield, Va.; stepdaughter, Rose Marie Haboush of Richmond; brother, G. C. Dowdy of Farmville; his six beloved grandchildren, Charlie, Jeffrey, Brad, Lisa, Renee, and Tina; also seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Dowdy was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Dowdy; and stepdaughter Diana Steinmann. Mr. Dowdy served in the U.S. Navy, and was a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Army, and served in WWII and the Korean Conflict.... The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment Glendale National Cemetery Tuesday at 11 a.m. with military honors. Dowdy RICHMOND--Mrs. Ora Pearson Dowdy, 42, formerly of Lynchburg, died Friday in a Washington hospital. Born in Keysville, she was the daughter of Joseph L. Pearson and Virginia Perrow Pearson. She was a sales clerk. Surviving are her husband, Wilbur C. Dowdy; two daughters, Linda Lee Dowdy and Patricia Ann [incorrect--Patricia Sue] Dowdy of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. E.L. [Virginia] Wheeler of Lynchburg and Mrs. M.R. [Ella] Overstreet of Newport News; three half-brothers, J. Harvey Pearson of Richmond, O. Ross Pearson of Keysville and E. Paul Pearson of Altavista. and a half-sister, Mrs. H.A. [Minnie] Tuggle of Keysville. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Glendale National Cemetery in Urbana [incorrect--Varina, east of Richmond]. J.N. Bliley Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of arrangements. Obituary of his second wife, Mrs. Jane Ferri Haboush (21 November 1921-3 March 2009), married circa 1973: Jane Ferri Haboush Dowdy DOWDY, Jane Ferri Haboush, of Richmond, widow of Norman Haboush and Wilbur Dowdy, departed this life Tuesday, March 3, 2009. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Diana Haboush Steinmann and Linda Lee Dowdy. She will be missed dearly by her surviving family members, two daughters, Rose Marie Haboush and Patricia Dowdy Grafton and husband, Chuck; six grandchildren, Lisa Steinmann George and husband, Mike, Renee Michelle Steinmann, Tina Steinmann Snow and husband, Shane, Brad Steinmann, Charlie Grafton and wife, Kari, and Jeffrey Grafton; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, John Ferri Jr., Jane McNeeley, Pat Ruffner, Brenda Bell, David Hornung; other loved relatives, sister-in-law, Fannie Ferri; son-in-law, Roy Steinmann. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., where services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
