Description	:	The funeral for Wilbur D. "Bud" Johnson, 79, of Fremont will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. He died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born Aug. 15, 1928, on the family farm near Denison, Iowa, to Bernie and Mabel Johnson. He moved into Denison with his family and grew up there. Bud worked for Western Union before going into the U.S. Army where he served two years, part of his tour of duty being in Japan. "Bud" Johnson, 79, of Fremont will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. He died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born Aug. 15, 1928, on the family farm near Denison, Iowa, to Bernie and Mabel Johnson. He moved into Denison with his family and grew up there. Bud worked for Western Union before going into the U.S. Army where he served two years, part of his tour of duty being in Japan. On his return home he went to work for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad on their line gang. He worked throughout the Midwest, and when he retired after 43 years, he had been working as a lineman electrician. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Fremont Eagles Aerie 200. He was preceded in death by sons, Ronald and Kevin; a brother, Virgil; and a sister, Dorothy Butler. The Rev. Dan Heuer will officiate Monday’s service. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont with family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. The United States flag will be presented by the Fremont Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 20 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
