Obituary Info Wilbur George Bousfield Services were held for Wilbur G. Bousfield of Lennox, who died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2001, at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He attained the age of 80 years and four months. Wilbur George Bousfield was born Oct. 15, 1920, in northern Lake County, SD, the son of Johanna (Williamson) and George Bousfield. He attended grade school in Parker and graduated from Hurley High School. Following high school he farmed with his father until he entered the US Army in 1943. He served in the southwest Pacific as a Sergeant in the First Field Hospital. On Nov. 26, 1942, he married Doris Bent of Canton, SD. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, the couple farmed near Parker, Chancellor, and Tea, SD, until 1969. Mr. Bousfield subsequently went to work for J.L. Healy Construction. He became manager of Farm Gas Co-op in Lennox in 1974, and served in that position until his retirement in 1984. His wife died Nov. 24, 1992, just two days prior to the couple's 50th wedding anniversary. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Brockmueller. Grateful for having shared his life are his daughters: Judy Brancel of Pierre, SD, and Carol Bousfield of Sioux Falls; grandsons Darren Shank of Beloit, IA, and Chad Bousfield of Sioux Falls; three great-granddaughters; sisters Erma Langerock and husband LuVerne of Marion, Marge Janke and Ella Gehrels and her husband, Wilbur of Madison, SD, LeAnn Poppen and her husband, Milo of Oregon City, OR; one brother, Jim Claussen and his wife Mona, of Sterling, IL.
