They moved to Glasco where he attended rural school. In 1919 they moved to the Grandpa Studt's place. He then attended grade school and high school in Simpson, graduating in 1926. They moved to Glasco where he attended rural school. In 1919 they moved to the Grandpa Studt's place. He then attended grade school and high school in Simpson, graduating in 1926. He farmed with his father until his marriage to Thelma A. Robertson in 1928. They lived in a farm house west of her folks for a year, then they moved to their present home. To this union were born two children, Leroy of Hays, Kansas, and Virginia of Simpson, Kansas. On June 19, 1952, his grandson, Jerry Dean, was born. He is survived by his devoted wife, Thelma, a son, Leroy and wife, daughter, Virginia and husband, Grandson, Jerry Dean, Mother Emma of Glasco, Kansas, Brother Noble of Glasco, Kansas. He was confirmed in the Lutheran church in 1923. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star of Simpson, Kansas. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Glasco, Saturday, November 14, 1953. Services were conducted by Rev. Paul Vielguth of Burlington, Kansas. Graveside services were conducted by his Masonic Brethren. Two songs were sung by the Simpson quartet, "Rock of Ages" and "Going Down the Valley One by One." The quartet was composed of Harold Vernon, Bob Severance, Cliff Francis and Willard McClintock. Pallbearers were Masonic Brothers, Clyde Gentry, Paul Grittman, Earl Shay, Lyle Leinen, Ted Duff and Joe Jindra. In charge of flowers were Star Sisters, Viola Gentry, Weta Duff, Helen Jindra and Ada Shay. Interment was made in the Glasco cemetery. Haley-Blachly Funeral Home was in charge.
