Dickey was prematurely deceased at his home, lot 30, concession 2, Adjala, on the 26th ult. A heart condition aggravated by an attack of flu followed by two relapses had so weakened his constitution that it was impossible to coax back to health the otherwise healthy young man. Dickey was prematurely deceased at his home, lot 30, concession 2, Adjala, on the 26th ult. A heart condition aggravated by an attack of flu followed by two relapses had so weakened his constitution that it was impossible to coax back to health the otherwise healthy young man. It had been decided to remove him to Stevenson Memorial hospital, but death intervened before this could be accomplished. Wilbur Dickey, who was the only son of the late William B. Dickey and Mrs. Dickey, was born in Adjala nearly thirty two years ago. One year and a half ago he was married, his bride being Marguerite Dermott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dermott of Tosorontio. Mr. Dickey was a very likeable young man with marked ability along divergent lines. As a farmer he was a distinct success having demonstrated to his neighbors that it was possible to make money out of agriculture. He was a member of Thompson's United church at Rosemont and had served a couple of years on the board of trustees of that church. The affairs of his school section were also under his eye and he was looked on by the people of the community as their coming representative in the municipal council. His father died on the 26th of April twenty-nine years ago. Surviving are his wife, his mother and one sister, Mrs. Geo. Faux. The funeral occurred on the 28th ult. and was very largely attended. The family connection being an extensive one numerous relatives near and distant were present from near and far. A short service was conducted at the home followed by public service in Thompson's church where Rev. Hugh Shannon made an address altogether appropriate to the sombre occasion. Interment was made in the family plot in Shelburne cemetery. The pallbearers were Ernest Thompson, Stewart and James Dermott, William Watson, Wellesley Arthur and William Gillespie.
