Description	:	Wilfred Richling Dies Result of Odd Accident Wilfred Richling, 30, of Beatrice died Saturday after being injured Friday afternoon, when a truck tire exploded. He was unloading his transport at Fairbury, when the accident occurred. Mr. Richling, owner of the Richling Transport Company, was taking a wheel off one of his gasoline transport trucks to put a new spacer between the dual wheels. The tire exploded, hurling the metal rim against his face and pushing him five feet back against a fence. No one witnessed the mishap, but Wilfred Hansen, bulk station manager, heard the noise. He investigated and found Mr. Richling unconscious. Wilfred Donald Richling was born May 11, 1921 at Creighton. He was graduated from St. Ludger Academy with the class of 1939. He was active in school and church duties. He was employed at the naval air station at Corpus Christi, Tex., until he entered the U.S. Maritime Service in 1941. Later he received a commission in the U.S. Army. On Sept. 25, 1945 he was united in marriage to Miss Doris Mary Christiansen at Newark, N.J. To this union three children were born, two sons and a daughter. Mr. Richling is survived by his wife and three young children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Richling of Creighton; three brothers, Willard of Creighton, Robert of Fairbury and Wellman of Omaha; four sisters, Mrs. Joann Aikin of Beatrice, Mrs. Grace Kyral and Mrs. Mildren Jindra of Omaha and Mrs. Irene Janssen of Avon, S.D. Funeral services were held at Beatrice Monday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The body was brought to Creighton Monday afternoon and services were held Tuesday morning at St. Ludger Church with the Very Rev. Joseph B. Falke officiating.
