Boelter dies at Jamestown after operation: Wilhelm Frans Herman Boelter, son of Ernest Boelter and his wife, Dorothea, nee Howe, was born at Winona, Minnesota, on the 28th of February, 1868. He was baptized on May 2 of that same year by Pastor Ph von Rohr in St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church at Winona. Boelter dies at Jamestown after operation: Wilhelm Frans Herman Boelter, son of Ernest Boelter and his wife, Dorothea, nee Howe, was born at Winona, Minnesota, on the 28th of February, 1868. He was baptized on May 2 of that same year by Pastor Ph von Rohr in St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church at Winona. He moved to Cass county ND in 1880 with his people where he renewed his baptismal vows in confirmation rites. In 1883 he moved to Prairie township LaMoure county, ND where he engaged in farming. On November 18, 1892, he was joined in Holy matrimony to Anna Kathrina Elizabeth Bubach. In 1892 he moved with his family to Gladstone township. This union was blessed with seven children, of whom five survived. Hi wife died on January 27, 1904. On November 10, 1904, he married Carolina Johanna Dorothea Sophie Hinrichs. This union was blessed with nine children, seven of whom are living. His helpmate passed away on June 19, 1918. He was married to Mrs. Marie Scheibe on June 9, 1927. He continued his farming operations until the fall of 1937, and the following spring, he and Mrs. Boelter moved to Marion where they resided until the time of death. He was never in robust health and about ten days before his death, entered the Jamestown hospital where he was under doctors’ care. On Wednesday, May 31, he submitted to a serious operation and on Friday, June 2, was called to his heavenly home. The cause of death is given as embolism following the operation. Preceding him in death are two wives and four children. Left to mourn his passing are his widow, six sons, namely, Philip of Portland, Oregon; Leonard of Marion; Arthur of Litchville; Lawrence of Grand Forks; William Jr., Litchville and Paul in the U. S. Army; the six daughters are Mrs. Louis Ruege, of Gillette, Wisconsin; Mrs. Ewald Hardtke of Marion; Effie Boelter, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Geo. Burkhardt, Litchville; Mrs. Melvin Moen of Pontiac, Michigan; and Mrs. Arnold Velure, of Hastings. Surviving also are one sister, Mrs. Emma Zapf, of Greeley, Colorado, 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He attained the age of 76 years, 3 months and 5 days. Funeral services were held at the Griswold Church on Monday of this week, the Rev. O. Boettcher officiating. The six sons of the deceased served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included Harold Johnson of Marion, Henry Bubach, Ferdinand Bubach, Fred Busche, Oscar Hildahl, Henry Pinke and Wm. Schwartz. Interment was made in the Trinity Lutheran (Griswold) cemetery. All the children were here for the funeral. May he sleep in peace.
