Description	:	William H. Korte, aged 82 years, died at his home in this city on Monday evening March 2nd, after a ten days illness resulting from a stroke of paralysis which he suffered at that time. Mr. Korte was born in Germany in 1819, was married in Germany to Louisa Dettmer, and came to this country in 1891 and settled on a farm in Douglas township where they resided until the year 1907 when they moved to this city, and his wife passed away in 1918. He is survived by three sons and three daughters, William and Henry Korte, residing north of here, Fred of Waterloo, Mrs. Ed Thieman of Waterloo, Mrs. Freida Reith of Chicago, and Mrs. Will Homann of this city. Funeral services were held from the Kaiser Chapel on Thursday afternoon, Rev. E. H. Rausch officiating and burial was made in Harlington Cemetery. [Sumner Gazette - March 12, 1931 Page 6]
