Read More	PETERSON, WILHELMINA AUGUSTA—Wilhelmina Augusta Peterson was born to William Franz and Wilhelmina (Dittman) Franz on December 7, 1889, near Ohiowa and passed away on January 3, 1984, at Heritage Nursing Home in Geneva at the age of 94 years and 26 days. On February 28, 1892, she was baptized at the Grace Lutheran Church south of Ohiowa, where she attended church until her marriage, then became a faithful member of the first United Methodist church of Geneva. On June 27, 1917, in Lincoln she was married to Oscar A. Peterson. They lived briefly in Torrington Wy., until Oscar was drafted in the Army. She followed him to California, where they remained until his discharge from the service. Upon their return to Nebraska, they settled on a farm 13 miles southwest of Geneva, living there until February of 1924, when they bought a farm at the west edge of town and operated a dairy for several years. In May of 1947, they retired from farming and moved into Geneva, where they resided until December of 1978, leaving their home and moving to Heritage of Geneva because of poor health. There they remained under the tender care of a loving staff until they were called Home. In June of 1979 they were privileged to celebrate 63 years of married life together. Wilhelmina was a member of the Geneva Chapter 180 Order of the Eastern Star, joining on April 15, 1931, and receiving her 50-year pin in February of 1982. She was a member of the Geneva Township Extension Club, Jolly Neighbors Kensington and United Methodist Women for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar A. Peterson, her parents, three brothers, three sisters and two great-grandchildren. She leaves to mourn her death, her son, Raymond; his wife, Dorothy; two nieces whom they raised, Marion Nun and family of Westland, Mi., and LaVerne Juhl and her family of Shelton; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Farmer and Son funeral home, Geneva on Friday, January 6, with the Rev. Harold Nelson officiating. Mrs. Delwin Myers provided music before the service and accompanied her husband who sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art.” The Geneva Chapter 180 Order of Eastern Star held a memorial service. Serving as pallbearers were Virgil Bohling, Ray Strope, Dr. David Portwood, Delton Myers, Don Kimbrough Jr. and Clarence Nun. Interment was in the Geneva public cemetery.
