Description	:	The Missoulian 9-20-1990 Minnie Kathryn Grant, 93, of Polson, died of natural causes Wednesday Sept 19 at St Joseph Hospital. She was born Nov 13 1896 in Dodge NE to Andrew and Margaret Mumedy and attended schools in Nebraska and South Dakota. In 1917 she began teaching in small country schools in South Dakota. She was born Nov 13 1896 in Dodge NE to Andrew and Margaret Mumedy and attended schools in Nebraska and South Dakota. In 1917 she began teaching in small country schools in South Dakota. On Dec 19, 1925 she married Jesse W Grant in Miller SD. The couple moved in 1926 to the Flathead Valley where Mr Grant was a cattle buyer. Mrs Grant completed her education by attending summer school at Eastern Montana College in Billings and the University of Montana. She resumed teaching in 1945 working in Charlo for 3 years. She then taught 3rd grade in Hot Springs for 15 years, retiring in 1963. In 1978 she moved to Lakeview Village in Polson. She was active all her life in the Presbyterian Church and served at different intervals as a deacon, church school supt and Sunday school teacher. She also held offices in the presbytery and was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Retired Teachers Assoc. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1945, 4 sisters and a brother. Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine Guinn of Polson and Eldena Buck of Hot Springs; a stepson Russell Grand of Polson; 2 brothers, Leonard of Ekalaka and Alvin of Willard Utah. 6 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 9-9 Friday at Mosley-Shrider Funeral Home in Polson. Friends are asked to meet at 11 am Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery in Polson for burial services. Memorial services will be at 1 pm Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Polson with the Rev Robert Raedeke Officiating.
