Survivors include four sons, Melvin “Joe” of Catherine, Howard of Hays, Richard of Russell, Bill of Westminster, Colo.; seven daughters, Mary Ann Stecklein of Arvada, Colo., Alice Frietag, Zita Dreiling, both of Hays, Gladys Jacobs of Wichita, Jeanette Gottschalk of Ellis, Carol Canfield of Fayettville, Ark., Joyce Gonzalez of Catherine; three brothers, Nick Kinderknecht, Eddie Kinderknecht, Bob Kinderknecht, all of Chicago; two sisters, Lucille Harvey, Mae Louise, both of Chicago; 56 grandchildren; 91 great-grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph; a daughter, Pauline; five grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Hays. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Catherine, with Father Earl Befort presiding. Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
