P. Knorr received word yesterday morning of the death of Mrs. Magnus Sauer, which occurred very suddenly at Alton, at five o'clock on Monday morning, June 12. Mrs. Sauer was apparently In her usual good health on retiring on Sunday night and was found dead In bed In the morning. She was for many years a resident of Le- Mars and had many friends here. About two years ago she left here to make her home with a daughter, Mrs. William Hensing, in Alton. She leaves to mourn her loss several sons and daughters who are John Sauer, North Yakima, Washington, Mrs. William Hensing, Alton, Mrs. C. Kellen, Faulkton, South Dakota, Albert Sauer, Wa'erloo, Charles Sauer, Selah, Washington, Mrs. John Dickermann, Selah, Washington, Dr. Andrew Sauer, and Dr. Raymond Sauer, of Chicago, and a large number of grandchildren. She was a sister-in-law of J. F. Knorr and also related to the Schafer family, of this city. Two sons preceded her in death and her husband, Magnus Sauer, died In LeMars, on June 15, 1907. Mr. Sauer with his family came to Plymouth county from Benton county in 1891. He was engaged for a time in the lumber business in Merrill and then came to LeMars where he engaged in the hardware business, conducting a store on Sixth street for many years. The funeral arrangements have not been completed, pending answers from relatives in the west, who have been notified by telegraph but will be held in LeMars either on Wednesday or Thursday morning at St. Joseph's church. __________ age 71 per Iowa WPA records
