Description	:	Mrs. Minnie Marie Ida Bartels nee Moeller was born April 2, 1899 north of Utica, Nebraska. February 15, 1900 she came to Seward, Nebraska with her parents where she received her education in St. John's Christian Day School. March 16, 1913 she was received by confirmation into communicant membership of the Lutheran church. During the time when she grew to be a young woman she diligently attended church services and led a Christian life. January 20, 1921 she became the wife of Walter J. D. Bartels. February 15, 1900 she came to Seward, Nebraska with her parents where she received her education in St. John's Christian Day School. March 16, 1913 she was received by confirmation into communicant membership of the Lutheran church. During the time when she grew to be a young woman she diligently attended church services and led a Christian life. January 20, 1921 she became the wife of Walter J. D. Bartels. The happy couple made their home on a farm north of Staplehurst, Nebraska. The following year a little girl came to brighten their home and increase their happiness. About seven weeks ago the deceased became sick abed having been ill some time before. Complication of diseases had set in which humanly speaking brought her recovery beyond human power and skill. The Lord had something better in store for her. She died May 19, 1924 at the age of 25 years, one month and 17 days. She leaves to mourn her early death her sorrowing husband, Walter Bartels, and her two year old daughter Velma Lorraine, besides her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Moeller, her grandmother, Mrs. Wilhelmina Hundt, her parents-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bartels, and other relatives and friends. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon. After a short service at Mr. and Mrs. Carl Moeller's home the Rev. A. A. Schormann of Staplehurst preached the funeral sermon in the German language at St. John's Lutheran church, taking for his text Psalm 90, v. 12. The Rev. C. H. Becker gave an English address basing his remarks on Psalm 37, 5. Immanuel Lutheran church choir of Staplehurst sang in German, St. John's Lutheran choir of Seward sang in English.
