Willa was born on August 6, 1927 in Erie, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Frankie Clemans. She was educated in Erie rural school and Chanute public schools. She was united in marriage to Warren E. Babcock on August 25, 1946 in Chanute. He preceded her in death. Willa was a member of the First Baptist and Grant Avenue Baptist Church for fifty-three years, and also a member of Berean Sunday School Class and American Baptist Women. Willa was born on August 6, 1927 in Erie, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Frankie Clemans. She was educated in Erie rural school and Chanute public schools. She was united in marriage to Warren E. Babcock on August 25, 1946 in Chanute. He preceded her in death. Willa was a member of the First Baptist and Grant Avenue Baptist Church for fifty-three years, and also a member of Berean Sunday School Class and American Baptist Women. She enjoyed working in all church activities. Willa was a lifetime member of Alcott School P.T.A. and RSVP. Cherry Street Youth Center was one of her favorite volunteer services. She served twelve years as Girl Scout leader and seven years as Boy Scout Leader. She enjoyed sewing and quilt making. Willa loved and cared very much for her family and many other children in her care over the years. Surviving relatives include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rex and Jennifer Babcock of Chanute and Jim and Pam Babcock of Robinson, Kansas; grandchildren Lynette and Rod Wescott of Arcadia, Kansas, Ben Babcock, Nancy Jackson, Ted Kihm and Buddy Kihm; great grandchildren Leah Wescott, Kyle Wescott, Allan Jackson, Rob Jackson, Johnny Kihm, Dylan Geiger, Sabrina Burd and Ella Reed; and great great grandson Rowan Jackson. Willa was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Frankie Clemans; husband Warren E. Babcock; daughter Leah Knetzer Babcock; brothers Olen Clemans, Charlie Clemans, and Ralph Jr. Clemans; and one sister, Doris Gosset. Countryside Funeral Home Gibson Chapel, Chanute, KS
