Description	:	Willa Jean (Keller) Olson, 61, of Johnson Lake died Saturday, May 22, 2010. Mrs. Olson was born April 26, 1949, in Valentine to Willard and Myra (Patterson) Keller. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Dennis Olson. Survivors of the immediate family are sons and a daughter-in-law, William Robert and Vicky Dowse of Sutherland, and Matthew Alan Dowse of Lincoln; her father Willard Keller, and stepmother, Ann Keller, of Broken Bow; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Ed Jezbera, Kay and Dennis Schmid and Nelda "Babe" Terry, all of Riverside, Calif., and Beverly Schwisow of Broken Bow; and her stepchildren and spouses, Cynthia and Larry Jones and Cally and Darrell Lowe of Texas, and Danny Lee and Kathy Olson of Sargent; grandsons William Robert "Robbie" Dowse and Andrew John Dowse; step-grandchildren Christina and Wiley Jones, Jade, Nicky, Dusty and Elissa Lowe, and Zac, Tristan and Brett Olson; her mother-in-law and husband, Bertha and Ben Lee of North Platte; brothers-in-law and spouses, Rodney and Berta Olson of Broken Bow and Jerry and Rose Olson of Mississippi; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Olson was the fourth of five daughters. She moved to Broken Bow at age 6 from the family ranch at Cascade. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1967, and later graduated from Kearney State College in 1971 with a degree in elementary education. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was united in marriage to Bruce Dowse in 1969 and to this union two sons were born. Willa taught 37 years at schools in Cherry, Brown, Custer and Dawson counties, retiring from Lexington Public Schools in 2008, where she spent her final 15 years of teaching. In 1999, Willa married Dennis Olson. They lived at Johnson Lake, where they enjoyed boat rides around the lake, fishing and hosting many friends and relatives. Willa was an active member of PEO Chapter AN and Alph a Delta Kappa. She enjoyed working crossword and sudoku puzzles, reading, playing bridge, golfing and gardening. She also looked forward to yearly visits with her sisters at the family home in Broken Bow. Her happiest times were spent at her lake home with her children and grandchildren. Willa was preceded in death by her mother, Myra (Patterson) Keller, and her second husband, Dennis Olson. Published in The Grand Island Independent on 5/23/2010
