She passed away October 12, 1977, at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson at the age of 70. On November 30, 1926, she was married to Irvin Lester Pope at Barnes, Kansas. They lived in Colorado for many years before moving to Nelson 9 years ago. Mr. Pope passed away in 1972. Mrs. Pope was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a sister who died in infancy. Survivors include her sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Ima Florence) Tefft of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mrs. Louie (Elaine) Stonequist of Topeka, Kansas, her brother, Forrest Bennett of Beatrice, Nebraska, Charles Bennett of Scio, Oregon, David Bennett of Freeport, Illinois, and Robert Bennett of Colorado Springs, Colorado, her stepmother, Florence Bennett of Topeka, Kansas; many nieces and nephews and many other fiends and relatives. Funeral services were Saturday afternoon, October 15, in the Nelson United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Victor Schwartz officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home, Nelson, was in charge. Casketbearers were James Tefft, William Hadfield, J.P. Wehrman, C.E. Wehrman, Jr., John R. Wehrman and Robert H. Wehrman.
