Description	:	Willard F. Casper died July 17, 1996 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 20 at Malvern United Methodist Church with Rev. Florentino Caole, Jr., officiating. Graveside services were held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion that evening. Graveside services were held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion that evening. Willard Frank Casper, the son of Frank John and Alta Hazel (Allard) Casper, was born at Cedar Rapids on May 12, 1918. He graduated from Primrose High School with the class of 1935. On June 25, 1941, he married Irma Jane Sallach at the home of her parents in Albion. To this union one daughter, Linda, was born. Willard farmed near Albion until 1961. That same year he started working for the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in their Dairy and Agronomy Department. He later became the Head Custodian for the Albion School District. He owned and operated a sanitation service in Albion until 1977. Irma died in 1977. Willard worked for Ernie’s at Ceresco where he continued until his retirement. Willard married Laura (Patterson) Clay at Malvern, IA., on May 12, 1979. They continued to live in Malvern where Willard became involved in the activities of the community. He was an active member of the Malvern Historical Society and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Lincoln. Survivors include his wife, Laura, daughter, Linda Whitcomb of Fremont, two granddaughters; one great grandson; a stepdaughter, Linda Marshall of Malvern; a stepson, Duane Clay of Malvern; five step-grandchildren; and five nephews, Robert Casper, Larry Casper, David Casper, Marvin Casper and Donald Casper. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Irma, and a brother, Kenneth. (Albion News – Albion, Nebraska – July 24, 1996)
