Mr. Michau was born a son of Robert Lee Michau and Mammie Lucille Hartley Michau on July 30, 1946, in Georgetown, SC. He was born the second child of 7 siblings: Robert Michau, Alex Michau, Gladys Pope, Linda Johnson, Henry Michau (Pam), and Willis Michau. He was born the second child of 7 siblings: Robert Michau, Alex Michau, Gladys Pope, Linda Johnson, Henry Michau (Pam), and Willis Michau. He attended the Eastside Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith. He was self- employed. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for hunting wild hogs. He enjoyed collecting unique and rare items old and new. He had a gift making people laugh and entertaining for him was as simple as just walking in a room. He was a devoted husband and family man who loved his children unconditionally and enjoyed spoiling the grandchildren and great-grandchildren to maximum. He leaves a legacy of joy and laughter in the heart of everyone who knew him. Willard and Rosa were married on July 15, 1971 and celebrated 49 years together and he was blessed to be the father of: 8 children, Rodney L. Michau (Renee), Joseph “Joey” E. Michau, and Tina M. Olin (Chris), Susan Whitmire, Willard E. Michau, Jr., Sheila Oxendine(Greg), Ricky Lee Michau, and John A. Michau,; 14 grandchildren, Brittany, Kaiden “Wilferd”, Kamryn “Pumkin”, Macayla, Stacey Kim, Chris, Noel, Lacey, Hunter, Whitney, Savannah, Eric, and Matt,; and 16 great grandchildren including Joleah “Little Bit”, Rainna “Tiny”, and Wilder “Willie” who he raised as his own children. He will be dearly missed by his surviving uncle and aunts: James and Dottie Michau, Bonnie Michau, and Mammie Hartley Cribb. He was predeceased by: his parents; 3 children, Susan, Willard Jr., and John; 3 siblings, Robert, Gladys, and Linda. Celebration of Life Service will be 2pm, Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Internment will follow in the North Hampton Baptist Church Cemetery directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Teddy Rabon and Rev. Dayton Stamey. The Michau family will greet family and friends 5-8 PM, Sunday evening, December 27, in the sanctuary of the Calvary FWB church. Memorials may be made to the Calvary FWB Church, 1663 N Fraser St., Georgetown, SC, 29440 Due to Covid-19, the family asks that everyone please practice social distancing and facemasks are requested. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Michau family.
