Description	:	husband of Maggie A. WILLARD R. LOPER was born in Putnam County, Indiana, October 5th, 1828; he was the fourth son of David and Lucy Loper. In 1837 he left Indiana and moved to Benton Township, where he now resides. In 1863 Mr. Loper was married to Maggie A. Cornic, by whom he has had three children, all of whom are now living. Under adverse circumstances, Mr. Loper’s education has been very limited; when he came to this State the Common School System had not been adopted, and when it was, he attended only in the winter, being obliged to work... He improved his time in the summer, however, and learned some good lessons in farming, the proofs of which we see at the present day. Beginning life with only a few dollars, Mr. Loper has gradually but surely worked his way up the rugged path of life, and besides a good farm and some property in Burlington, he has a good home and lives in comfortable circumstances. With an energy common to only a few; with a good knowledge of cultivating the soil; with a loving family, who share the bounties of a pleasant home, we can truthfully predict for Mr. Loper many happy days and a cloudless future.
