He was born Feb. 24, 1917 near Hayesville, Iowa to Jacob Howard and Margaret Jane Lock Keasling. He married Esther R. Hamersly March 1, 1941 in Lancaster, Mo. She preceded him in death Dec. 14, 2006. He served in the U.S. Army with the Medical Corps during World War II. He worked for John Morrell and Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of First Pentecostal Assembly of God, O.B. Surviving are two sons, William James (Joanne) Keasling and Gary Leo (Theresa) Keasling both of Ottumwa; a daughter, Sharon Rosetta Keasling of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, James N. (Rosa) Keasling, Jonathan E. (Rosenthal) Keasling, Lorelle Lynn (Jeremy) Hopkins and Kurt William Keasling; a great-granddaughter, Isabel Hopkins; a brother, Richard Edger (Izetta) Keasling of Eldon. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Alma Marie Nakvinda, Iowa Arlene Keasling, Helen Beatrice Keasling, and Evelyn Irene Tidball; and three brothers, Jacob Howard Keasling, Chancey Denver Keasling, Harold Gilbert Keasling, Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Pentecostal Assembly of God with Rev. Richard Schlotter, Rev. George Edgerly and Rev. Jane Shroyer officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
