He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Meyer on October 1, 1960 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Manley, Nebraska. Together they made their home on the farm and raised their three children, Don, Laura and Paul. Bill was a lifelong farmer and spent much of his time studying ways to make his farming operations better. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and the Sons of the American Legion in Elmwood. He previously served on the Murdock School Board and the Co-op Oil Board. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Matthew Farris, great grandsons, Jerad Zoz, Gabriel Farris and sister, Mary Scheideler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Manley, Nebraska with Father Tom Wiedel officiating.
