The Milford Mail, Milford, Dickinson County, Iowa - Jan. 11, 1934 - DEATH CLAIMS WILLIAM BOVEE - He Had Been in Failing Health Since Last July - William Bovee, who had lived in this community since 1907, passed away at his home last Friday after a lingering illness. He was 66 years, 4 months and 7 days old. The funeral services were heed last Sunday in the Federated church by the Rev. Wayne Stauffer. Burial was in Coon Rapids. The Rev. Stauffer read the following obituary: "William Albert Bovee, son of William and Nellie Ellen Bovee, was born at Iowa City, Ia., August 20, 1867. He was married to Miss Nettie Sharp of Coon Rapids, December 25, 1897, where they made their home until 1907, when they moved to Milford, where they lived until the time of his death. He was ill since July 3, 1933. One child was born to this union, Mrs. Celia Carpenter of Ruthven. He leaves to mourn, his wife, daughter and three grandchildren, two brothers, James and Charles Bovee of Sioux Falls, So. Dak., and the sister, Mrs. Lillie Sharp of Coon Rapids. Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. His wife and sister cared for him until the end. All of his family and sister were with him at death." It might be recalled that a large group of neighbors gathered at the Will Bovee home last fall to husk his corn. Mr. Bovee was brought home from the hospital in Iowa City shortly after the neighbors had finished with it. He was so filled with gratitude and appreciation that words entirely failed him. Will Bovee was admired and respected by all who knew him.
