Interment was in the Bowmans Grove cemetery. William Albert Eugene Lacey was born at Fort Wayne, Ind., March 15, 1856, and died at his home in Harlan, Iowa, March 1, 1930, aged 73 years, 11 months and 15 days. Deceased was the son of Solomon D. and Margaret Lacey. He grew to manhood in Illinois and came to Iowa in the year 1874. On July 11, 1878, he was united in marriage to Emma C. Harris. To this union was born seven children, three dying in infancy. The living are Sylvia E. Barber, of Lane, South Dakota; Oscar Wayne, of Exeter, Mo.; Elber J. of San Diego, Calif., and Austin D., of Harlan, Iowa. On August 13, 1894, the first Mrs. Lacey died. Ten years later, Mr. Lacey was married to Mary A. Thraen, of Harlan. To this union was born one son, Clarence O. of Harlan. An adopted daughter, Marie also survives. Also 3 sisters, Mrs. Alice Gardner of Blythdale, Mo., Mrs. Ed. Shew, of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Emma Waggoner of Harlan, together with the wife and mother and a host of relatives and friends are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father.
