Martin, 35, of Holyoke died suddenly early Saturday morning, April 13, at his home. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Martin had lived in the Holyoke area most of his life. He was employed by Phillips County for some time. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Holyoke Christian church with Donald Gordon, minister of that church, officiating. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park. The Lewis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A son of Dale and Pauline Knight Martin, William Allen Martin was born July 18, 1932 at Elsie, Nebraska. He moved with his parents to a ranch about 20 miles southeast of Holyoke on February 13, 1943, and attended Cement school in that community. On November 4, 1962 he was united in marriage in Holyoke to Kay Gaynor of Atwood. Two children were born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. Martin purchased an automatic laundry business at Sterling in 1964 and operated it for a year before returning to Holyoke. Mr. Martin was interested in the outdoor life, hunting and rodeos. He was a member of the Holyoke Christian church. Survivors include his wife, Kay and two children, Wade and Debbie, Holyoke; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Martin, Holyoke; one brother, Robert Martin, Holyoke; four sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Arkularie, Holyoke, Mrs. Jackie Hill, Petrolia, Texas, Mrs. Katherine Cannon, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs. Ronda Fetzer, Haxtun; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Sherman Knight, Holyoke; and many other relatives and friends.
