Doub, 79, of Forbush Road passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Sept. 19, 1925, in Yadkin County to the late Arzie and Lillie Allen Doub. Doub, 79, of Forbush Road passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Sept. 19, 1925, in Yadkin County to the late Arzie and Lillie Allen Doub. Mr. Doub was a loving, fun, devoted husband, father and grandfather. For 47 years, he was owner and operator of William Doub Excavating, during which time he rode lots of children on his loader. He was a retired tobacco farmer. He was a life member of Baltimore United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee, and a member of the American Legion Post No. 505. Mr. Doub was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater with the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 in the 75th Infantry Division, Company A. In addition to his parents, his step-mother, Fannie Saylor Doub; a sister, Edith Doub Kiger; and a brother, Aldene Doub, also preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Gaynell Wooten Doub of the home; three sons, Larry (LuRae) Doub, Ricky (Judy) Doub and Kent (Beth) Doub, all of East Bend; five grandchildren, Scott Doub, Michael (Julie) Doub, Ashley (Michael) Wilbanks, Mason Doub and Kala Doub; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Logan, Layken, Brianne, Isabel and Isaac; a sister, Sarah Penry; two brothers, Edward (Olevia) Doub and Roy (Velna) Doub; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today, March 30, at Baltimore United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jake Penley, Brother Steve Johnson and the Rev. Jack Stratas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baltimore United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Kelly Speer, 2341 Flint Hill Road, East Bend, NC 27018. The family would like to express its gratitude to Dr Terry Hess, Tina Myers, Karen Norman and the staff of the Fifth Floor Intermediate Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center for all the love, care and support given to Mr. Doub. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Doub family.
