Description	:	William Alseph was born in the tiny town of St. Anicet in Quebec, the son of Joseph Alseph (b. 1818 in Limerick, Ireland d. 1905 in St. Anicet) and Mary Hasson (b. 1825 in Scotland - d. 1902 in St. Anicet). He married in 1882 and immigrated to Cherokee in the same year. Before moving to the U.S. he worked as a laborer, but when he arrived in Amherst, Cherokee, Iowa, he worked as a farmer, eventually retiring to a house in Cherokee. He died at his home at age 85. Mary was his only child.
