He was predeceased by four wives, Florence Caulder-Wilder, Juanita Mims Sharpe-Wilder, Wilma Mae Alford-Wilder and Beatrice Zurcher-Wilder; four brothers, Grady Wilder, Vernis Wilder, Claudie Nix, and Roy Mixon; a sister, Lula Bell Owens; and a step-daughter, Patsy S. Rogers. Surviving are his companion, Peggy W. Pope of Hemingway; three sons, W.A. Wilder Jr., Caskey Wilder and Terry Wilder, all of Georgetown; a daughter, Teressa W. Heinemann of Georgetown; five step-sons, Ricky Sharpe and Casper Alford, both of Georgetown, Monty Alford of Alabama, and Randy Zurcher and Jeff Zurcher, both of Hemingway; three step-daughters, Bobbie S. McCutcheon of Georgetown, Ramona A. Forbes of Andrews, and Amy A. Bell of Kingstree; 31 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
