Pearson, a prominent Peetz merchant for more than a quarter of a century, died at his home last Monday morning at the age of 75. Funeral services were held at Peetz Tuesday with Rev. Taylor officiating and interment was made in Sidney Greenwood cemetery, the Gehrig funeral service in charge. Mr. Pearson had been bedfast for five months, the result of a lingering illness. Three years ago he was forced to retire from business because of ill health and he had been inactive since that time. He was one of the most prominent residents of Peetz, coming there soon after the town was founded. He had a wide acquaintanceship in Logan and Cheyenne counties, and news of his death had occasioned widespread regret. Mr. Pearson is survived by his wife, and seven children. The Telegraph is attempting to secure a complete obituary notice for publication Tuesday. OBITUARY William Ambrose Pearson was born at Sommerset, Warren county, in October 4, 1859, and departed life April 15, 1935, at the age of 75 years, five months and 11 days. He was a resident of Colorado and the Peetz community for 25 years. He was united in marriage to Miss Alice Dalton October 31, 1881, at Atlantic, Ia. They moved from Iowa to Winston, Colo., in 1910, and to Peetz in 1914, where he had made his home until his death. He was converted and united with the Methodist church in his young manhood. Two sons preceded him in death, John Harold and Claud Ambrose. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Alice, two sons and five daughters. They are Fred H. of Witney, Arthur C. of Kennett, Mo., Mrs. Rev Dunham of Padroni, Mrs. G.L. Howard of Carrolton, Mo., Mrs. Glen Martin of Benedict, Mrs. R.D. Reynolds and Mrs. H.E. Williams of Peetz. A sister, Mrs. G.B. Prall of Atlantic, Ia., also survives. Besides his immediate family he leaves 31 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends, who revere his memory. -------------------------
