Read More	Highland Recorder April 27, 1917 DEATH OF PROMINENT CITIZEN Ambrose Price, whose illness is mentioned by our Doe Hill correspondent, died at his home in the foot hills of Jack mountain, last Tuesday night. Death was due to blood poisoning, the result of running a splinter in his finger while at work on the farm. Hoping to save his life by amputating the arm physicians were called for that purpose Tuesday evening, but they found it too late, and death ensued in few hours Mr. Price was the unfortunate victim of a train of accidents in his life of approximately three score years, a neighbor informing us that, as a result of the first, he was on crutches for several years. The second one a very peculiar accident occurred only a few years ago, a maul in the hands of a helper flying from the handle and striking Mr. Price on the head as he held a post that was being driven. This came near terminating his life, but he finally recovered, only to meet the third and fatal one recorded above. Deceased was son of the late Townsend Price, and is survived by a widow, four sons and one daughter, all grown and married. He is spoken of by those who knew him as a worthy, industrious, home loving citizen, held in high esteem. P. 330 Vital Records of Highland list his mother as Caroline McCoy Highland Recorder March 11, 1910 Ambrose Price recently moved to his farm two miles west of this place, which he purchased from Ezra Beverage. Jonathan Eagle, who had resided on the farm above mentioned for several years, has moved to his farm about two miles west of McDowell. Highland Recorder April 22, 1910 SINGULAR ACCIDENT Mr. Ambrose Price, while engaging building fence on his farm near Doe Hill, was a few days ago, struck in the head by a maul with which his son was driving stakes, and was seriously, if not fatally,injured. The maul came off the handle and it must have struck the unfortunate man with terrible force. He had not regained consciousness when heard from on Wednesday, and but little hope is entertained of his recovery. He is a brother of Mrs. Joseph Blagg, of this valley, and she was summoned to Doe Hill on the morning following the accident.
