Description	:	William Andrew Coulter was the second of two sons of Andrew Jackson Coulter & Mary Elizabeth Black. He was born on his sister Cynthia's eighth birthday. He married 13 June 1931 to Lyndall Johnetta Diebel (1895-1989), only child of John Henry Diebel & Etta Sensenbacher. After Bill's father lost an arm in 1903 in a mowing accident, Andy & Mary lived with Bill and were supported by him. Andy died in 1918 and Mary in 1924. After Bill's father lost an arm in 1903 in a mowing accident, Andy & Mary lived with Bill and were supported by him. Andy died in 1918 and Mary in 1924. Jump forward nearly 40 years, to 1963, when I met 80-year-old Bill for the first time. At my request, he was telling me about his 7 siblings and his many aunts & uncles---his father was one of 11 children. I asked if he had any old photographs of those relatives? No, he replied, after his mother died, his six sisters "arrived with empty suitcases, and left with full ones." They didn't leave him a single family photo. After visiting Bill & his lovely wife Lyndall in Ohio, I traveled on to the old Coulter homes in Grove City, Pennsylvania, where the childless widow of cousin William Coulter Dale gave me some of her late mother-in-law's family photos. Margaret was glad to find a home for them. So on my way home to Iowa, I stopped in Ohio and presented Bill with a large photo of his parents and all eight of their children, circa 1893. He was delighted to get it. I borrowed it in 1970 to include in my family genealogy, Our Coulter Clan & Allied Families, page 13. In the 1893 photo, Andrew & Mary are flanked by Bertha & Bill.
