Description	:	William Andrew "Bill" Johnstone, Jr., of Daniel Island, died December 5, 2009 in Charleston. Born in Sebring, Florida, on February 8, 1945, he was the son of the late William A. and Eleanor F. Johnstone. Bill grew up in Belle Isle in Georgetown, S.C., where he graduated from Winyah High School and played football earning him a full scholarship to the University of South Carolina and also attended Murray State University in Kentucky on a football scholarship. Read More	William Andrew "Bill" Johnstone, Jr., of Daniel Island, died December 5, 2009 in Charleston. Born in Sebring, Florida, on February 8, 1945, he was the son of the late William A. and Eleanor F. Johnstone. Bill grew up in Belle Isle in Georgetown, S.C., where he graduated from Winyah High School and played football earning him a full scholarship to the University of South Carolina and also attended Murray State University in Kentucky on a football scholarship. He was a Charter Member of Daniel Island Rotary Club, and was presented the 2009 Service Above Self Award. Bill was presented with the 2009 Service to Mankind Award, from the Old Charlestowne Sertoma Club. He was the past Chairman of the Board for the Winyah High School Restoration Project in Georgetown; member of the Propeller Club; past member of the Chamber of Commerce; Charleston Trident Home Builders Association; Winyah Indigo Society Hall, in Georgetown; Charleston Trident Board of Realtors; past Board Member for Donate Life of South Carolina in Greenville, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Mt. Pleasant. Bill was a Real Estate Broker for over thirty years and the President and Owner of Century 21 Waterfront Properties for 20 years. He was awarded the 2008 Centurion Award. He was the recipient of a liver transplant in 2003, and was very instrumental in working with the Senate Sub-Committee and was successful in getting the Legislature to pass a law for a new Organ Donation Registry in South Carolina. He was very active in helping many people through the process of receiving liver transplants; fundraisers for those in need of a transplant, and talking to people with cancer. His motto was "God and Attitude". Bill was one of the most generous and giving people you would ever meet. He was an avid sportsman, loved hunting and fishing, and also loved to travel. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Daniel Island; his son, William A. "Drew" Johnstone, III of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Cleo Savannah of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Beaumont J. Riley and husband, Andy of Columbia and several nephews. Interment was in Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church Cemetery, Georgetown.
