William Armstrong Collier died at his home four miles east of Beaver Crossing on Tuesday, July 6, 1909, of heart trouble from which he had been suffering several weeks. William Armstrong Collier died at his home four miles east of Beaver Crossing on Tuesday, July 6, 1909, of heart trouble from which he had been suffering several weeks. A wife and five children survive him, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral. The funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday, July 7, 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Bruce pastor of the Zion Evangelical church; there was a large attendance of relatives and friends as Mr. Collier was a good neighbor and a man highly respected by all who knew him. The remains were laid at rest in the Beaver Crossing cemetery. Mr. Collier was born in Licking county, Ohio, September 16, 1836, and came to Nebraska in 1865, settling on a homestead near Milford where he resided four years, then locating on the farm four miles east of this place, which was his home until death claimed him. In 1864 he was married to Miss Charlotte Lawn, six children being born to them- five of whom are now living. Deceased served his county from 1861 to 1863 and was a member of the 29th Ohio Infantry. Mrs. Collier and children have the sincere sympathy of the general public in their time of bereavement.
