Description	:	William Arthur Jones Smithville, Tennessee resident and DeKalb County native William Arthur Jones, 90, passed from life May 2, 2004 after a brief illness. The owner/operator of coin laundries in Sparta and Monterey, after graduation from Dibrell High School, he worked various positions including 24 years with government construction. He helped with the building of the Oak Ridge plant where the atomic bomb was developed. He received a certificate from the U.S. War Department in appreciation of his efforts. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 71 years, Ella Mae Delong Jones; his sisters, Etheleon Williamson and Opheleon Williamson, both of Warren County; his nephews, Freddie, Ray, Joel, Doyle and J.F. Williamson, Woody and Royce Davenport, Stanley and David Williams, Ronnie Whitley, Thwaitt and Jack Wall; his nieces, Janice Maynard, Alvida Edelen, Bobbie Harrison, Melba Pedigo, Ann Webb and Lynn Cantrell. He was the son of the late Jesse P. Jones and Roshie Marsh Jones; and was preceded in death by infant sister, Lila May Jones; nephew, Tyman Hollinsworth; and a niece, Betty Smith. Services will be held at the Smithville First Assembly of God with Rev. Glenn Burks officiating. Interment to follow at Keltonburg Cemetery in DeKalb County. High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.) May 5, 2004
