Internment was in the Malvern Cemetery, Rev. Beebout read the following life sketch: William Arthur Bower, son of Adam F. and Rebecca Matilda Bower, was born Sept. 25, 1881, at Cainsville, MO and departed this life Nov. 25 1956 at Malvern. On April 16, 1906 he was united in marriage to Inez Minnie Thomas at Yates Center, KS. To this union one daughter and four sons were born. After his marriage Mr. Bower began farming near Randolph, IA, later moving to a farm near Malvern. All his life had been spent on a farm until failing health made it necessary for him to give up this occupation. His love for farming remained with him throughout his illness. Many times he would say: "I wish I could be out there with boys sowing the oats or planting the corn or taking care of the stock." He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Mrs. Austin Bass, of Malvern, four sons, Ralph and Gerald of Malvern, Wilbur and Glenn of Red Oak; four grandchildren, Richard Bass, Barbara, Leroy, Linda and Craig Bower; four sisters, Amanda Wilson of Bakersfield, CA, Mary McClain of Cainsville, MO, Pearl Tudor and Martha Eason of Nevada, MO; two brothers, John Bower of Shenandoah and Oral Bower of Perry, IA; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Inez, Sept. 27, 1956 and one brother, Elza Bower. Mr. Bower was a member of the First Methodist church and the friendship club, made up of old friends and neighbors. He loved his family and appreciated having his children and grandchildren near him. It filled his hear with joy to have friends and neighbors drop in for a visit,
