Obituary for William August "Billy" Bellin - The Shelton Clipper, 3 December 1931, Thursday, pg. 1: William Bellin Dies At Lisco, Nebraska William Bellin, 62, a former resident of this community and who was well known to many people here, died Monday at his home near Lisco, Nebraska. News of his death was received by Shelton relatives late Monday night. Although the cause was not learned, it was known that he had been troubled with ailments believed to have been the result of infected teeth, and only recently suffered what appeared to be a paralytic stroke. "Billy" as he was familiarly known to his friends, was born in Germany and came to this country with his parents when a small child. The family first located in Wisconsin and after a residence there of a great many years they removed to Nebraska, locating in this community. It was in the eighties when the family came to Shelton and they lived on a farm north of town. In 1894 Mr. Bellin was united in marriage at Kearney to Miss Fannie Kiickler of Shelton and to this union four children were born, three sons and one daughter. One of the sons died about seven years ago and he leaves his wife, two sons, Clifford and Richard, and his daughter, Mrs. Dan Cunningham, all of Lisco. A brother, Bernard Bellin, lives at Grand Island. Since moving to Lisco, Mr. Bellin and his family have visited here often with relatives and friends, and only a few months ago he was called to Shelton by the death of Howard Oliver, a brother-in-law. Mr. Bellin was a man who was well liked by everyone and he will be missed not only by his family, but other relatives and a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held a Lisco Wednesday afternoon and burial was made in the cemetery at that place. A number of local relatives went to Lisco to attend the funeral.
