Description	:	Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 2 in Nazareth Lutheran Church for Billie Mortensen, age 61, who died from injuries received in a motorcycle accident on June 30th. The motorcycle Mortensen was driving veered off the highway and ran into a barbed wire fence near the Junction of Highways 2 and 52 northwest of Minot. Mortensen was enroute home Minot where he had just purchased the motorcycle. Rev. Donald Burton officiated at the services, Mrs. Joan Larson was organist and Mrs. Darla Wagner sang. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mortensen was born June 28, 1919, at Kenmare. He was reared there and at Powers Lake. He married Ardis Wade Feb. 3, 1941, at Kenmare. They farmed in the Kenmare and Lostwood areas, and most recently, in Elmdale Township, Ward County. For many years, Mr. Mortensen played in the Eddie King and Country Knight Band in the Kenmare area. He was a member of the Elmdale Township and School boards. Survivors include his wife; son, Dale, Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Mrs. Robert (Judy) Moor, Williston; four grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin, Kenmare; sisters, Mrs. Mel Bibbee, Ellensburg, Wash., Mrs. George Hansen, Minot, Mrs. Adeline Ackerman, Kenmare, and Mrs. Jim Funk, Everett, Wash.
