PERKINS was born in *Plymouth County, Connecticut, November 28, 1841, and died at his home north of Lucas, October 14, 1908, aged 66 years, 10 months and 16 days old. He moved with his parents to Galva, Ill., at the age of 14 years and was a resident of Illinois for a number of years and while there enlisted in the Rebellion. PERKINS was born in *Plymouth County, Connecticut, November 28, 1841, and died at his home north of Lucas, October 14, 1908, aged 66 years, 10 months and 16 days old. He moved with his parents to Galva, Ill., at the age of 14 years and was a resident of Illinois for a number of years and while there enlisted in the Rebellion. In the year of 1865 he came to Iowa and seven years later was united in marriage to MISS BETTY SNIDER, of Clarke County. Six children were born to this union, namely JESSE E., MRS. W.S. SHELTON, JOHN E., WILLIAM H., SARAH F., AMANDA CLEO. MR. PERKINS contracted a disease while in the army and of late has been in very poor health. All that medical advice could do was done for him, but death had marked him for its victim and the power of man was of no avail. He was very kind and obliging and never turned a deaf ear to the request of the needy or suffering. He was buried in the cemetery at Bethel Chapel today, by the Masonic fraternity of which he became a member in early life.
