Wilson, son of William I. and Hannah Clark Wilson, was born in Juniata county (sic), Pa., on March 20, 1857, and passed away suddenly in the early morning of March 20, 1941, the dawn of his eighty-fourth birthday, at Belleville. He was one of ten children of a pioneer family in Pennsylvania, and his twin brother, John Price Wilson, alone of the ten children, survives him. Early in 1878 he united with the Methodist Episcopal church (sic) at Lack, Pa., with which his twin brother had united on August 9, 1876, under the same pastor, the Rev. Mr. Singer. This consecration was fully observed to the date of his death, a span of almost 65 years. He was a worked and a valuable contributor to the Byron Methodist church (sic) during the years of his residence there. He served as steward and trustee for many years, always serving the church and community with honor and benefit. He came to reside near Byron in 1887, and two years later became a resident of Washington township in Republic county (sic), where he maintained a permanent home thereafter. For almost 40 years he and his brother, Price, lived together on the farm where their sister, Harriet, kept house for them the last 12 years of her life. He was a living example of Christian manhood, and his every act and thought were for the good. By frugality and a keen sense of values, fair dealing and honest effort, he and his brother gained a modest competence in worldly goods, but this is far less than the good will, devotion to duty, and example of true Christianity he left behind. He was unobtrusive in manner, but one who performed every task assigned him with real vigor and purpose. He is survived by his twin brother, Price; 26 nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Funeral services were held Sunday at Belleville, conducted by the Rev. C.A. Fisher of the Methodist church in Belleville, followed by services at Byron, conducted by the Rev. Miss Marian Holbert of the Byron Methodist church (sic). Interment was made in the Chester cemetery (sic).
